Burns Charest is representing a Harvard Law student in an effort to lower tuition because of the university’s reliance on online classes. Tuition prices and fees remained the same after the mid-semester move to remote learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Those costs are scheduled to remain the same for the fall semester, even though the prestigious institution remains closed to on-campus instruction. 

The complaint for the proposed class action notes: “The online learning option Defendant offers is subpar in practically every aspect. The remote learning option is in no way the equivalent of the in-person education putative Class Members were promised when they committed to attend Harvard.”
