Burns Charest partner Darren Nicholson has been named to the list of D Magazine’s Best Lawyers in Dallas for 2022 in commercial litigation.  

With more than 20 years of experience trying cases in state and federal courts, Mr. Nicholson is currently lead counsel for a coalition of more than 25 hospitals across Texas in claims against manufacturers, distributors, and retailers responsible for the opioid epidemic.  

His past cases include successfully representing plaintiffs in a multi-million-dollar lawsuit involving business fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, and commercial bribery; obtaining a multi-million-dollar jury verdict for breach of a patent licensing agreement; and obtaining a favorable judgment in the Texas Ranger Baseball Partners bankruptcy for breach of contract, among many others.  

Mr. Nicholson joined Burns Charest in 2019 after lengthy tenures at the Dallas trial boutique of Sayles Werbner PC and in the Washington D.C. office of Arnold & Porter LLP. 

The honorees on the annual Best Lawyers in Dallas list are nominated by their peers based on discerning which attorneys in the region are producing the most outstanding work. Once the nominations are tabulated, an anonymous panel of lawyers and the D Magazine editorial staff choose those who best represent the top attorneys in Dallas.
