Firm Files Class Action Alleging Privacy Violations by The Atlantic Organization

A Burns Charest team is pursuing class action litigation against the publishers of the magazine and online platform The Atlantic. The lawsuit, filed in California federal court, alleges The Atlantic unlawfully shares digital subscribers’ identities and video-viewing preferences with Meta Platforms, the owner of Facebook. This personal, protected information includes individual IP addresses, names, emails and phone numbers, leading to access and use of individual Facebook profiles without consent. Attorneys filing the lawsuit include Chris Cormier, Hannah Crowe and Lauren Cross, in association with Girard Sharp LLP.
