The firm’s $41 million jury verdict has secured a place on the nation’s “Top Verdicts” for 2022 in The National Law Journal.  

This list recognizes the U.S. law firms and attorneys who obtained one of the 100 largest jury verdicts in the nation in 2022. The rankings are based on state and federal court records reported by VerdictSearch, a National Law Journal affiliate. 

The Burns Charest jury verdict, won on behalf of Denver-based GT Resources LLC, was secured after a seven-day trial in April 2022. The dispute pertained to a 2.3-million-acre oil and gas concession in Costa Rica. The Denver jury returned the verdict after a full day of deliberations.  

The outcome ranks as the 83rd largest jury verdict of the year on the list published today. According to the “Top Verdicts” list, the result is the fifth largest business law jury verdict in the nation. 

The firm’s trial team was led by attorneys Daniel Charest, Christopher Cormier, Chase Hilton and Larry Vincent.
