Warren Burns Named to Leadership Role in MDL Over Tire Price-Fixing Claims
An Ohio federal court has named the firm’s Warren Burns as Interim Co-Lead Counsel for automobile dealers and other resellers in multidistrict litigation against some of the world’s largest tire manufacturers. The plaintiffs allege that Bridgestone, Goodyear, Michelin and other companies have conspired since 2021 to arbitrarily raise the price of tires by as much as 14%, despite the post-pandemic recovery seen in lower production costs and excess supply for the products.
“Our litigation tracks with an ongoing regulatory investigation in multiple European countries to determine how these companies are coordinating price increases, which harms anyone who drives a vehicle,” says Mr. Burns. “I appreciate that the court recognizes our firm’s experience and capabilities of serving in this important role.”
The case is In Re: Passenger Vehicle Replacement Tire Antirust Litigation, MDL No. 3107 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio in Akron.
