Burns Charest Asks Court to Block Boeing Plea Deal, Garners National Media Mentions
Attorneys representing the families of those who died in two Boeing 737 Max crashes, including Burns Charest, have asked a federal judge in Fort Worth to reject a plea deal between Boeing and the Justice Department over the crashes that killed 346 people.
An attorney and professor that teamed up with Burns Charest criticized the agreement, telling Reuters and the Associated Press that it “fails to reflect that Boeing’s crime killed 346 innocent victims."
The plea deal stipulates Boeing would pay a fine of $243.6 million and invest $455 million in a compliance and safety program.
Law360 also covered the story and highlights Burns Charest’s Warren T. Burns, Darren P. Nicholson, Chase Hilton and Kyle Oxford as representatives for families and victims.
