Korey Nelson Again Named to Lawdragon’s 500 Leading Lawyers in Environmental Law

Burns Charest partner Korey Nelson has been named to list of the nation’s 500 Leading Environmental Lawyers for 2025 by the Lawdragon guide. Honored in the practice area of Environmental Litigation, this marks the second consecutive year that Mr. Nelson has been honored in this category, which recognizes the “lawyers who spend their lives helping address our world” according to the publication’s editor.
The publication’s “Green 500” guide is developed using a process of nominations from within the profession, extensive research and vetting among peers and experts in environmental law.
Mr. Nelson’s work in the practice area includes pursing class action litigation for several Louisiana communities alleging that AT&T and Lumen Technologies failed to remove long-abandoned, lead-wrapped telecommunications cables that have contaminated groundwater in the region. He also secured a favorable financial settlement and regulatory cleanup of 170 acres of Louisiana properties contaminated by 80 years of oil and gas operations.
