Two Burns Charest partners are featured on the list of the Lawdragon 500 Leading Environmental Lawyers for 2026. Daniel Charest in the firm’s Dallas office and Korey Nelson in the New Orleans office are recognized in this year’s guide, which according to the publication’s editors celebrates “the advocates and warriors who fight every day for sustainable practices, remediation from harm and environmental justice for the planet and all of us who live on it.” Both are honored in the practice area of Environmental Litigation. 

Daniel is widely recognized for his high-stakes trials including representing victims of flooding all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court and victims of refinery releases on the island of St. Croix. Korey has successfully litigated several environmental pollution cases against major public and private businesses, which led to financial settlements for property owners and remediation of the environmental damage.
